Christmas Preview & Photo Christmas Show Features

Since running our first show in 2016, we have steadily added new features and types of lights to our Christmas show. To the right is a dual image showing the Preview that is used to simulate what the lights will look like while sequencing, above a photo of our 2022 show.

The lights we use fall into three categories:

AC Light Strings
These are the standard light strings. Most of our features are decorated with red, warm white, blue, and green lights to provide lots of different color combinations. Examples include the house features, mega tree, mini trees, and candy canes.

Standard RGB Lights
Often called "dumb" RGB lights, these include the floods as well as several bushes that are decorated with RGB pixels where the entire string is the same color.

Smart RGB Lights
Smart RGB lights are so called because every single bulb within the set is individually addressable, allowing for an unlimited number of effects. Examples include the snowflakes, wreath, presents, and snowman.

Materials
PVC pipe and connectors have been absolutely critical in constructing many of our props, including the arches and mega tree. PVC is a great material because it is available in different sizes, is flexible, can be connected in many different ways, and is relatively inexpensive. Additionally, tomato cages are a great way to make mini trees, and many of the smart RGB props are made using Coroplast, a plastic material similar to cardboard.
